The foundations of my approach
Training the body as one structure
The human body is designed to move as an integrated system. By combining strength, mobility, and awareness, you develop a body that functions efficiently, adapts to any movement, and recovers naturally. This integrated approach supports surfing, sports, and everyday life.
Understanding your own systems
Understanding how your body works empowers you to move smarter, prevent injuries, and take ownership of your practice. Knowledge of tissus, respiratory system, and the nervous system transforms training and recovery into conscious, informed choices.
Trusting body’s intelligence over mental control
Yoga teaches us to listen to the body rather than force it. By tuning into your body’s signals, you move with precision, ease, and flow, improving performance in a natural, sustainable way. This approach enhances not just surfing, but all movement and wellbeing.
Reconnecting with our true nature
For centuries, modern culture has taught us to see ourselves as separate from nature — above it, and in control of it. This mindset has pushed us too far into the mind, cutting us off from the deeper intelligence of the body. The consequences are clear: chronic stress, disconnection from ourselves, and the destruction of life around us.
We are not machines. We are living ecosystems. Within us, every system: muscular, respiratory, nervous, digestive; is interconnected. Beyond us, we are part of a larger web of life, inseparable from the environment and the elements. Recognizing this is a step back to our true nature.
Reconnecting with the body is more than changing how we move. It’s about inhabiting ourselves fully, creating space for the body’s own intelligence, cultivating awareness, and restoring a more organic way of being.
When we make this shift, we unlock our full potential. Living in alignment with our body’s intelligence allows us to move with greater awareness, adapt more easily, and sustain energy over time, which translates directly into our surfing practice. By reconnecting with ourselves, we don’t just enhance performance, we cultivate a deeper, more integrated way of being.
